In Joshua Oppenheimer’s The End, a family lives in a very advanced and well-stocked bunker after an environmental catastrophe made the Earth uninhabitable. Father (Michael Shannon), Mother (Tilda Swinton), and Son (George MacKay), along with a few others, lead all-too-normal lives that rarely engage with the responsibility they bear for the devastating events that sent them underground.
