Interview: Ruth Wilson on the Unique Tone and Feel of ‘The Woman in the Wall’

Ruth Wilson has an impressive TV track record, winning a Golden Globe for her performance as Alison Bailey in The Affair and subsequently appearing in the limited series Mrs. Wilson and the fantasy adaptation His Dark Materials. Her most recent feat: stepping into the very singular role of Lorna Brady, the protagonist of Showtime’s The Woman in the Wall.

Awards Buzz spoke with Wilson about the allure and challenges of this character and project. Watch the video above to hear her reflect on her TV journey and preview what’s coming next: portraying journalist Emily Maitlis in the Amazon limited series A Very Royal Scandal.

Ruth Wilson is eligible for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at this year’s Emmy Awards. All six episodes of The Woman in the Wall are streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime.
