Jeff Kober is having a very good—and slightly surreal—Emmy year. The veteran actor could walk away from the 2026 ceremonies with two more Emmys to add to the one he already won, thanks to dual nominations for two very different performances: Duke Ekans on The Pitt and Cyrus Renault on General Hospital. In fact, Kober has already made Emmy history as the only actor nominated for both a Primetime and Daytime Emmy in the same year. Not bad for a career that stretches back decades—and includes everything from China Beach and ER to Sons of Anarchy and The Walking Dead.
His first trip to the Emmys came way back in 1989 for China Beach, and now, all these years later, he’s back in the conversation with not one but two standout performances. Awards Buzz sat down with Kober to talk about his Emmy journey, his upcoming Apple TV project Brothers with Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, and so much more.
