Evan (Brian Jordan Alvarez) faces a number of obstacles as a high school teacher in present-day Texas and has a different approach to modern teenagers than his best friend Gwen (Stephanie Koenig), whose antics include climbing through ceiling vents to catch her students cheating and letting her students’ opinions of her fashion choices affect her far too much.
