In the new Hulu series Furious, Alice (Emmy Rossum) is an FBI agent who, while struggling to recover from an abusive relationship with police officer Marshall (Jake Lacy), works in partnership with Danny (Scoot McNairy) and Nora (Quincy Tyler Bernstine) to track Catherine (Lola Petticrew), a serial killer hunting down the people who hurt her.
Awards Buzz spoke with Petticrew about whether she could – or wanted to – find anything to relate to her about her character:
“I definitely found a lot to relate to in Catherine. I think many people will. I think it’ll hit a nerve with a lot of people. I think that’s what’s so great about her and I think even people who don’t necessarily see themselves in her will hopefully empathize with her a little and it’ll maybe push some of their moral boundaries into a place that’s a little uncomfortable, but I think that’s sort of exactly what we want from this.”
She also spoke to the many cast members she got to share intimate and often violent scenes with:
“What a gift! Certainly the scene partners that I had in this series have been phenomenal and I got to learn so much from each and every one of them. I think that’s a gift for an actor to go in and have these pockets of time to really dig deep with this many people and get to the heart of things that are really dark and difficult and each one of them are just at the top of their game in terms of what they’re doing and consummate professionals. Getting to go into work every day and see other people work like that is an honor.”
