Hysteria! takes place in the small town of Happy Hollow. After the disappearance of the star quarterback, hints of the occult and supernatural occurrences arise, and the suspicion of the dark forces of heavy metal becomes the culprit as Satanic Panic sets in.

Peacock’s eight-part series, based on the real-life 1980s phenomenon, was created by Matthew Scott Kane and produced by David A. Goodman. Awards Buzz spoke with the pair about the relevance of Hysteria! today, how ’80s pop culture influenced the series, and the music behind the mayhem. Take a look at what they had to say.

The show stars Bruce Campbell (Chief Dandridge)Julie Bowen (Linda Campbell), Anna Camp (Tracy Whitehead), Emjay Anthony (Dylan Campbell), Chiara Aurelia (Jordy), Kezii Curtis (Spud), and Nikki Hahn (Faith).

All eight episodes of Hysteria! will drop on Peacock on Oct 18. USA Network and Syfy will simulcast the first episode on October 18, with USA Network airing episodes each Friday.
